How to Create and Upload Content
Welcome to DevotionHub! As a publisher, you can share faith-based content that encourages believers through devotionals, podcasts, and music. This guide will show you how to create, format, and upload content to the platform.
Accessing Your Publisher Dashboard
- Log in to your DevotionHub Publisher Account.
- Go to the Publisher Dashboard.
- Whatever content type you chose during onboarding will appear on your dashboard.
- Choose one of them and click Create / Upload:
- Devotional
- Podcast
- Music
Devotionals
Devotionals are short reflections based on scripture to encourage spiritual growth. Each devotional must follow this structure:
Required Fields:
- Title – A short, meaningful title reflecting the message. Example: Trusting God in Difficult Times
- Bible Reading – The scripture passage the devotional is based on. Example: Proverbs 3:5–6 'Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.'
- Message – The main reflection explaining the scripture and helping readers apply it to daily life. Recommended length: 150–400 words
- Prayer – A short closing prayer for the reader.
Uploading Devotionals from Printed Books
If your devotional is only in hardcopy, you can convert it to digital text using a scanning app with OCR (Optical Character Recognition).
Recommended Scanning Apps:
- Adobe Scan
- CamScanner
- Google Keep
Steps:
- Open the scanning app.
- Scan the devotional page.
- Allow the app to convert the image to editable text.
- Copy the text.
- Paste it into the Title, Bible Reading, Message, and Prayer fields on DevotionHub.
- Review formatting and correct any errors.
Tips for Best Results:
- Scan in good lighting
- Keep the page flat and clear
- Scan one page at a time
- Always proofread the text after scanning
Podcasts
Podcasts allow you to share sermons, teachings, Bible studies, or faith-based discussions.
Steps to Upload:
- Go to Publisher Dashboard
- Click Create Content → Podcast
- Upload your audio file
Requirements:
- File format: MP3 or M4A
- Recommended length: 5–45 minutes
Fields:
- Title
- Description
- Audio File
- Cover Image (Optional)
Once uploaded, click Submit for Review.
Music
Publishers can upload Christian songs, worship music, or instrumental worship.
Steps to Upload:
- Go to Publisher Dashboard
- Click Create Content → Music
- Upload your audio file
Requirements:
- File format: MP3 or M4A
Fields:
- Song Title
- Artist Name
- Description (Optional)
- Audio File
- Cover Art (Optional)
Once complete, click Submit for Review.
Content Guidelines
All content must:
- Be Christian faith-based
- Be uplifting and encouraging
- Be original or owned by the publisher
- Avoid offensive or harmful content
DevotionHub may review and moderate submissions before publishing.
Managing Your Content
From Your Content (music, podcast, or devotional), you can:
- Edit devotionals, podcasts, or music
- Update descriptions or titles
- Upload new audios
- Track engagement
Roles, Permissions, and Team Members
Publishers can manage team members by creating roles, assigning permissions, and inviting members to their account.
Creating Roles and Permissions:
- In the Publisher Dashboard, click Roles & Permissions.
- Click Create Role.
- Enter a Role Name (e.g., Admin, Editor) and a Description.
- Select the permissions this role should have (e.g., create content, edit content, manage members).
- Save the role.
Adding Team Members:
- In the Publisher Dashboard, click Teams.
- Click Invite Member and enter their email address.
- Assign one of the previously created roles to the member.
- The member will receive an email to join your account with the assigned role.
Tips:
- Admins can manage content and team members.
- Editors can create and manage content but cannot manage team members.
- Assign roles based on trust and responsibilities.
Privacy and Security
- Do not share your password with anyone.
- If you notice any suspicious activity or unauthorized access, change or reset your password immediately.
- Keep your account secure to protect your content and team members.
